Hug a Friend

She’s the quiet of the two
she could say many things with authority
because she's erudite with Masters of Law
Husband, Attorney at Law

is the gregarious one (surprise)
Her quiet was broken the other day
when told her one breast was harboring
the demon all women dread
She remains quiet but in that
silence, in that quiet stillness,
she screams in frazzled fear
I hug my friend

  1. Breast cancer? I'm sorry for your friend. Such a difficult thing. I've been following a great blog and so was following when she got diagnosed. It's a very honest blog about her struggle. Maybe your friend will appreciate it. http://greenmonkeytales.blogspot.com

  2. Thank you for your response and your referenced blog.
She is a good friend and this is her second time around for a diagnosis. The first time, about nine months ago, she was told it was benign.

Gracias. I will forward this blog to her.

Have a nice glass of wine 8-)

  4. Sometimes I marvel that I have made it this far in life without ever having a really serious illness. All good luck to your friend.

  6. Wow. This one really hit home. My mother is a two time breast cancer survivor. Keep those hugs handy for your friend. I'm sending positive thoughts her way.
