forgotten

you and your ignominious ways have
tossed you into the pail of obsolescence
your toes all crooked and unkempt,
your hair disheveled, uncombed forever
cuticles filled with dirt and suet
nails scaly and teeth crusted like lemon cake
you've allowed yourself to get old
don’t you have anyone,
someone who cared while you were
youthful and alive. at least someone who
can now cover you with some semblance
of human dignity as you pass on

so this is what unrequited love looks like

  1. WOW! This poem really made me think - the outer signs on a person of others' lack of love. Great write, my friend - your eyes see into corners we might not look otherwise, and shine some light.
