reuniting family
Souls gathered
found a common space
the seas had parted them
when the winds were rough
and the moons gave
demanding rise to the tides
if the voices would not
have howled in darkened
starless nights
these souls would not
have heard and wished
to gather again
but they did last night
and the stars came out
the seas did rise
so did the wind
the moon gave light
to this gathering
long embraces flowed
shared much lost,
even when words were'nt spoken
the eyes met, the windows opened
hearts beat in sync
the souls smiled
It was meant

I like the gathering of nature, the smiling of souls ~ Happy weekend to you ~
ReplyDeleteThis is very lovely - the stars, the moon, the sea, the wind...... the words unspoken, but felt through the eyes.......just lovely, kiddo.
ReplyDeletethis was beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteGracias mi amigas. This was actually a spontaneous gathering that was not planned yet much was to behold.
ReplyDeleteThis may be one of my new favorites of yours! There's so much beauty in your words.
ReplyDeleteYou have followed the thread of an interesting concept in this poem. What brings souls together, and drives them apart.
ReplyDeleteI love moonlight,really lovely
ReplyDeleteFirst the souls part due to seas and wind! Wow and then 'the souls smiled. It was meant.' How lovely! :)
ReplyDeletereally well thought out!!! I like where the prompt took you: you have chartered new territory and made it your own.
ReplyDeleteThe line breaks make for a definite musicality to this piece and the repetition...well done!
ReplyDeleteI like the musical feel of this and the creative direction you took the prompt!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully poignant.
ReplyDeleteK
A pretty song to celebrate gathering and parting and gathering just as the waves playing with the shore.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, your last line is brilliant! "It was meant" rather than "It was meant to be." The former says so much more than the latter, which is cliché. Excellent.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely piece of reuniting family. I love the second stanza.
