i soar o'er

~i soar o'er 'les ‘terra firma' as it holds hands with the waves of the sea while they listen to the vibrations brought forth by the wind as mother earth rotates giving the sun its reflective time and the moon and stars their nocturnal charms amidst the noir of night~

Nature's way

~i am totally enthralled with Spring when it arrives and mine
eyes open wide to the colors of Nature's dress,
i love Summer and the warmth of that golden eye that gives
nutriment and verve to flora and fauna and warmth to my
spirit,
but then i know that Autumn is the rebuilding, the changing
of attire with all its rustic brilliance as it awaits the artic cold
that's soon to come our way,
and then the gray of a Winter's day only to be ornamented
by the festive holidays of 'man's' lighted array,
never disavow the season you are present in by saying 'i look
forward to', for you will never know the truth of Nature...

this is Nature's way~

i baste in my quiet

I baste in my quiet, my solitude,

soothing my spirit by Chopin’s

Nocturne No. 20 in C sharp minor

performed by Menahem Pressler

Then i listen to Jimmy Buffet who’s

words and melodies transform my

recliner to promontories by the sea,

crashing ashore in ebb and flow

And with this ‘awe’, although these

past few weeks much lament is still

raw, I find joy sitting with my three

rescues and life partner, my lovely wife

death conspires with the night

Oh night, again, in all your repose and solemnity and
while i sleep, you have stolen from me another loved
one while in my quiet of sleep at night. you and death, i
in a fortnight, have conspired to steal from my heart
first two dear friends and now Sunday night my older
brother, as his wife could not awaken him from his sleep
my heart is in great pain, my tears are no more, no
longer do they seep from their depletedlacrimal abode,
no longer do they roll down my cheek
i am devoid of words with lament, and night if you are
not conspiring with death to also take me soon, then
my spirit shall still thrive and go on living, maybe
later to dance once more, but only from within

wish for my legacy

i have been a son, a brother, a friend, an athlete, a business man, a giver, and yes in some moments a taker. but, i wish to leave and be remembered as being kind, being a friend and leaving words and feelings for others to consume and say to themselves he was a kind gentle friend that left me with a little piece of himself that i like and will carry with me. he was a good human being, he loved and was loved...

my incarnate shell to rest

from when once i ran with the wind chasing

the deer, climbing the trees to see what my

friends perched on limbs could see, i now

walk gingerly, mine eyes squint to see the

colors of seasons, my body becoming frail

so when i lay my body down to rest for all

eternity, i wish to lay it in the snow or in

a winter’s day, so that when it turns cold,

it won’t know warm blood once flowed

within, anymore

that when they find and lift it from the cold

the last of its warmth will leave an imprint in

the snow for those who knew me and will

remember me, when young and stupid, then

hopefully, wiser and kinder when old

~i love you now as i did yesterday,

i love you now as i will tomorrow,

my love is not malleable, it is not

moveable, it is impenetrable, and

impervious to the sling of arrows

from the pangs of life, and more

 importantly, for you, it is

forever~

what your eyes see when they look into mine

If mine eyes have looked into yours and yours into mine
we will have seen the worlds we each have lived
you will have seen my heartbeat and i yours
thus we will care for each other
you will have witnessed with every step i have taken,
the anguish and pain, the smiles and the joys,
the trudges my feet have walked, also their dance
while on the path given and the one i have chosen
so when we cross paths again and our eyes, once again
look into each other’s, we will remember and we will
care from whence we came and where we’re going, but
most importantly, that we care for each other
