glittering
speckled flakes
falling from my face
in the sun they glisten
in the night they’re unseen
in
the daylightfalling from my face
in the sun they glisten
in the night they’re unseen
I turn
away so
no one sees my face
no one sees my face
at
night I stand still
in the dark
breathing quietly
if at all
alone, I strum
my guitarin the dark
breathing quietly
if at all
of
lamenting strings
verses floating on a puddle
of tears at my feet
some may listen to my song
but then, all walk away
I listen
every morningverses floating on a puddle
of tears at my feet
some may listen to my song
but then, all walk away
to my only friends
nesting
upon
their arboreal lair
they
never walk awaytheir arboreal lair
although,
they can fly free
but always they come back
to greet me the next day
but always they come back
to greet me the next day
Such a beautiful poem! LOVE this stanza, nene:
ReplyDeleteI strum my guitar

some listen to my song
but all then walk away
i rely on nature to get me thru most days, too. :)
ReplyDeleteOh such lonely notes, sounding in the darkness.......thank God for birdsong! This is so beautiful, nene!
