i baste in my quiet

I baste in my quiet, my solitude,

soothing my spirit by Chopin’s

Nocturne No. 20 in C sharp minor

performed by Menahem Pressler

Then i listen to Jimmy Buffet who’s

words and melodies transform my

recliner to promontories by the sea,

crashing ashore in ebb and flow

And with this ‘awe’, although these

past few weeks much lament is still

raw, I find joy sitting with my three

rescues and life partner, my lovely wife

  1. The pairing of awe and raw is just right. I'm happy for how this poem began with music and ended with your companions in solitude: "I find joy sitting with my three / rescues and life partner, my lovely wife."

    1. You might want to link this one poem instead of the entire blog. And please put our link in the post. Thank you.

  2. Marco, I enjoyed this moment of peace and solitude with you and your wife - and your three rescues. Lucky you, to have three critters! So glad you stopped by What's Going On, my friend. Give your pups a treat for me.

  5. Music does find its way into our peacefulness. I was saddened to learn of the passing of Buffet. I caught a show of his once. Maybe you continue to bask in the joys of your life- Truedessa

  7. Solitude is an important time in order to appreciate all of life's requirements. Music is a wonderful platform, in all genres...
